This website has been set up to record and display the under represented and often ignored Opus Sectile work which came from Henry Powell and sons Whitefriars Glassworks in London. Powell's were a key player in the renaissance of stained glass during the nineteenth century and created the material for these types of memorial from waste glass. The process of making what was then known as 'opaque glass' is explained on other pages.
